Hey Fam!
One thing I can tell you about myself is that I've grown.
I'm not even talking about the--largely--unsolicited comments about my increase in size (that one is a story for some other time, if ever), but yeah, I'm talking about growing in ways that matter to me. Like being comfortable with not being right all the time, or learning to love the process even more than I already do. Then there is the part about being okay with sharing a simple, unrehearsed, picture like the one above.
Oh, those aren't what people would normally consider growth? Well, you seeā¦
I stumbled on the quote above on Instagram last year. Well, more like a month ago, when everywhere you looked, you heard āand with that, the 2022 season comes to an endā, coupled with a lot of content on why gratitude is important, or on how to end the year. It was a (seemingly) simple message, yet each slide had something worthy of note. Like these ones.
Okay okay, I hear you, you tend to be lazy and don't think this message is for you. Well, it still is, whether you've been grinding hard, or going soft, the deal is this, YOUR LIFE IS NOT A PERFORMANCE. Your growth is as important as the air you breathe, but I dare say that even more important than just āgrowingā is growing in ways that matter to YOU, becoming better at things you value and evolving more and more into the person you want to be.
So, here we are again, already almost a month into another year, with yet another opportunity to improve our lives, but this time, on our terms. You want to control your emotions better? Or learn to resist the urge to say something (potentially) mean and hurtful? Have you been wanting to communicate better with loved ones? Or is it the ever so common struggle to be physically active? Let's make it work out. Whatever it is, no, I mean it, WHATEVER you have been meaning to do, this is your chance to grow in it. That's all I'm saying.
To be fair, I did say that this message will grow on you.Ā
I am solidly rooting for you. Hoping and praying that your growth will be imminent as it is personal!
Till next time.
Keep Breathing.
