Sadly, this is not clickbait.🫠 Nor is it April Fools!😩
For the past 3+ years, I’ve been writing (inconsistently) on Stories on Torch, every week to anyone that cared to listen, or more like read.
If there’s anything I constantly tried to do, it was to share at least one thing that helps make:
Someone’s life a little bit better.
Someone’s heart a little bit lighter.
Someone’s faith (/heart) a little bit stronger.
Come to think of it, this might also be a good summary of what drives me as a person.
I’ve really enjoyed writing on this platform as it’s helped me speak to and connect with people in dynamic ways. If there’s anything I embrace, it’s the idea that even if just one person was reading my letters, then they are enough to write to.
It’s always a gift anytime I see comments from some of my usuals
, , or my most (vocally) consistent reader— , who often hits me up when I haven’t posted in a while.I do this for Sunday. And for all the other Sundays on here that take the time to read what I write, thank you. I do this for you, literally. (PS: That’s not why I send my newsletters on Sundays though.😏)
Between me and you, I’m trying to be more efficient and focused with my different endeavours and projects, and thus the decision to sunset Stories that Torch.
On that note, allow me to put you on to what’s coming…
If you’ve ever watched my videos on Social Media, or read my sign-off at the end of my newsletters, one word that you will find repeatedly is JISIKE!
If I were to explain what that means to me in three words, it might come to: NOTHING BEATS GRIT! If I were to use two words, I’ll probably say KEEP BREATHING, but I doubt there’s any ONE singular word that can adequately capture the essence of JISIKE.
In the 60-seconds trailer of my long forgotten, soon-to-be revived podcast, I described it like this:
Welcome to Jisike.
A podcast about people doing life, or at least trying to make the best of it. Let’s have that conversation, and with any luck, we’ll find some meaning in the process.
Jisike is an Igbo word which means, never give up, keep it up, keep pushing, keep moving, keep thriving, keep breathing.
The popular notion is to find light at the end of the tunnel, but how about we try to find light within the tunnel? How about we dare to ask questions that will shake the fabric of what we know, if they’re false, then we let them go, if not, we have stronger convictions, talk about a win-win.
I’ve been in the business of helping and building people for about a decade, and it’s what I love to do. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not here trying to give you all the answers, but for every question you have, I‘ll have even more questions that should hopefully help in one way or the other.
I’m just out here trying to do life like you, so, let’s talk.
Keep breathing!
Jisike!
As a business, Jisike was established to help people discover and confidently express their purpose, while being the best they can be.
And as a “media tool”, the goal is the same.
Nothing beats GRIT!
If you are big on family, then consider Jisike your cool big brother who has stories for days.
If you’re business minded, then let Jisike be your accountability and productivity partner who always makes sure you’re on top of things.
If you are the friendship type, Jisike will be your pal, your sounding board, your knowledgeable friend who always shares resourceful
memes andposts.
Whichever suits you, Jisike is committed to curating and creating the most relatable resources imaginable, with the aim of helping you become your most productive version… yes, that’s possible!
To put it simply, Jisike is here to stir counterculture conversations that:
Spark Creativity
Encourage Productivity
Foster Positivity.
If that sounds like it’s your jam, then welcome aboard.
Looking forward to this beautifully-rocky, and terrifically-impactful ride.
Speak soon.
Keep breathing.
Jisike.
