It’s The Ebube Agu here, the One they Call Storyteller, the first son of the first son, Nwagoziri agozi 1 from God’s own state. If you don’t know, you should know, and if you didn’t know, you now know.😅
It’s my birthday today, apparently. And as expected I’ve spent some time reflecting.
I don’t have any deep or instructive lessons to share today, but while looking back, I found some interesting things that have happened in my life in over 3 decades.
Walk with me.
1. At age 7, I couldn’t speak English.🤭
2. I got a “double promotion” from Primary 1 to 3 because I bested everyone taking the entrance exam.😬
3. Despite my double promotion, I never came first in class again—but I had the HIGHEST Common Entrance score in my primary school.😏
4. I am from Abia State, I was born in Anambra State, grew up in Delta State, went to University in Enugu State, served in Imo State, worked in Abuja, now living in Lagos State. I’ve visited over 50% of Nigerian states.👣 (Did I hear somebody say son of the soil?)
5. It took me 7 years to complete a four-year undergrad course.🫠
6. I dropped out of a Post Graduate Diploma program in Education.😶
7. Many many years ago…I was part of an acappella group called ‘The Echo’.🎶
8. In university, I made money from photography.📸
9. I once acted in a movie that premiered in cinemas alongside legends like Clarion Chukwurah and Nkem Owoh.🎬
10. Technically, I’m a banker who works as a Product Marketing Manager and leads Marketing for Africa’s largest EduFinTech company—Edubanc.👨🏾💻
11. I’ve MC’d at a variety of events—conferences, get-togethers, weddings, and more.🎤
12. I pastored a church. ⛪
13. I published my first book at age 25.📖
14. I founded an NGO called We All Need Healing.🫶🏾
15. I once took a night bus from Abuja to Asaba after missing my flight just to make it to a wedding. My first visit to Jos (from Enugu) was for the funeral of my son’s father, and I also returned via a night bus.😮💨
I had naturally grown dreadlocks—that people loved to debate whether they were real.🤷🏾♂️
The longest I’ve stayed in any job is two years.😶🌫️
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy & Psychology and a Master’s in Media and Communication.💫 🎓
I worked as an Uber driver—as my first job after graduating.🚕
The first car I owned (gifted to me by my Uncle) was a Chevrolet I named ‘Pro’.🚘
I have gone three days and three nights without food…. And I can tell you, it didn’t go by “fast.”🍽️
As a kid, I set our dog loose on my lesson teacher.🦮
By next year, God willing, I’ll have an MBA.👨🏾💼
I’ve earned money from writing, MC-ing, coaching, marketing, driving, and more, and I’ve worked across diverse sectors, including Real Estate, Education, Furniture Manufacturing, Non-Profit, Tech, Consulting, and Marketing Agencies.🌟
I once worked as a counselor at a K-12 school.👨🏽🏫
I co-founded and run a creative agency that’s quietly making waves—Low Hanging Froot. 🍒
The love of my life—my wife—is from Ondo State, a First-Class Law graduate and an exceptional Business & Operations Consultant, whose smile just might be electric enough to fix Nigeria’s power problem.⚡
I believe a PhD is in my future, and I might still study Law.👀
I’m decent at basketball 🏀, football ⚽, tennis 🎾, table tennis 🏓, badminton 🏸, and a few other sports.
My favourite place to visit or live is by the water, preferably on a hill overlooking a vast body of it.⛰️🌊
I am ‘madly’ passionate about lifting people around me in any and every way I can.🏋🏾♂️
Alongside eternal life, the greatest gift I can boast of as a born-again Christian is UNEXPLAINABLE PEACE!🕊️
If you read up till this point, then you’ve earned the right to ask me a question about any ONE of the facts above.😜

Keep breathing.😌
Jisike!💪🏾
